CityLit Festival

Each April, CityLit Project presents its signature event: CityLit Festival. The day-long celebration of literature includes concurrent programming throughout our partner's venue so that there is something literally for everyone.

The list of amazing headliners includes Pulitzer winners Edward P. Jones, Steve Coll, and Junot Diaz; National Book Award winners Mark Doty, Jaimy Gordon, and James McBride; MacArthur "Genius" grant recipients George Saunders, Claudia Rankine, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie; writerly musicians such as John Wesley Harding and John Darnielle (and Mr. McBride); Maryland State Poet Laureates Michael Glaser and Stanley Plumly; and notable authors Thomas Glave, Laura Lippman, Tyehimba Jess, Quincy Troupe, Afaa Michael Weaver, Michael Collier, Jessica Anya Blau, the late Dudley Clendinen, Dan Fesperman, Elizabeth Kostova, and scores more!

The bustling Literary Marketplace provides exhibit space to the area’s diverse community of self-published authors, small presses, literary journals, and organizations.

Baltimore magazine named CityLit Festival “a can’t miss event on the city’s cultural scene.”So mark your calendar for each spring, and don't miss CityLit!
