Baker Artist Awards Site Open for 2012 Nominations

11/04/2011

GET YOUR LIT IN GEAR!

The 2012 Baker Artist Awards site is live again, and artists throughout the Greater Baltimore region are encouraged to nominate themselves for one of up to three $25,000 Mary Sawyers Baker Prizes, and one of up to nine $1,000 b-grant prizes. Three b-grant prizes will be announced in November, three in December, and three in January, and the Mary Sawyers Baker Prizes will be announced in the late spring. Artists and artists collectives 21 years of age or older who have been living in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Harford County, or Howard County since at least October 2010. If an artist collective applies, every member of the collective must meet the eligibility requirements.

Artists must self nominate themselves, and the Baker Artist Award site found at www.bakerartistawards.org, allows artists of all disciplines to upload images, video, audio, and text, so that they may show their work in a dynamic fashion. For more information go to www.bakerartistawards.org or for assistance email thelab@bakerartistawards.org.

The deadline to nominate is JANUARY 15, 2012.

Last year, three writers received $1000 B-grants, so literary artists should take advantage of this wonderful program as much as our pals in the other artistic disciplines.  Nominate yourself today!
