CityLit Festival #12 Set for Saturday, May 2, 2015

11/03/2014
Due to scheduling conflicts, the traditional mid-April CityLit Festival has been moved to Saturday, May 2, 2015.  The free celebration of literature will be held again at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Central Library, 400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

CityLit Project presented the 11th annual festival in 2014 as part of its tenth anniversary.  A decade later, the organization's signature event garnered two "Best of Baltimore" awards from City Paper and Baltimore magazine.

"The honors acknowledge that what we present is not only engaging, but desired by audiences living in the metropolitan area," said CityLit's executive director Gregg Wilhelm.  "People will come inside, even on a pretty spring day in May, to hear quality writers read their work."

The festival typically draws 2500-3000 attendees each year.

The May date coincides with FlowerMart at the Washington Monument, which CityLit Festival organizers believe will be a synergistic experience for folks visiting Baltimore's cultural district.
