An Evening with Poets Gregory Pardlo and Kevin Young

04/22/2018
CityLit Project is proud to partner with the Enoch Pratt Free Library to present a special National Poetry Month Writers LIVE! Event at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2017, with poets Gregory Pardlo and Kevin Young. The event takes place at the Maryland Institute College of Art’s Brown Center, 1300 Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Gregory Pardlo won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for his last book of poems, Digest. His new book, Air Traffic: A Memoir of Ambition and Manhood in America, tells the story of his strained New Jersey upbringing, fatherhood, addiction, and African American masculinity.

Kevin Young serves as poetry editor for The New Yorker and director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library. From James Brown to John Brown's raid to Brown v. the Topeka Board of Education, Young's new poetry collection, Brown, is a meditation on the themes of collective experience and color.

(Greedy Reads will have copies of the authors' books for sale at a book signing following the program.)
