"Afternoons with Authors" Kicks Off in NW Baltimore

The first-ever "Afternoons with Authors" event, a series of programs presented by Enoch Pratt Free Library and CityLit Project, takes place Saturday, March 13, 2010.  The event begins at the Pratt Library's Pennsylvania Avenue branch (1531 W. North Avenue, 21217) at 1pm.

Our vision is to host an "Afternoons with Authors" every quarter in roughly the four quadrants of the city to showcase that community's writers.  Our objective is to give the community a sampling of the diverse work being created.  We are pleased that some new friends from beyond Baltimore will be joining us this Saturday.

Dr. Walter A. Gill
, the Urban Professor, will serve as emcee and introduce the authors.  There will also be an opportunity for Q&A with the audience as well as a book signing.

Authors include:

Michael Anderson, Struggles of My Life

Jerome Benton, The Pawn That Wanted to Move Backwards

Harold Fisher, Two Weeks Until the Rest of My Life

Jimmy Boyd (Writing as Ombonia Waits), Damned Ble$$ing

Veronica A. Odum (Writing as omblivnju1027), TGbTG: To God be The Glory

Clifton “Hines” Early, Had I Listened

Louis Diggs, Our Struggles

Questions and answers on writing and publishing, and a book signing, will follow the readings.
