CityLit has helped to nurture the community of writers in Baltimore where participants develop their voices and their literary art in an non-academic setting. Experienced instructors offer constructive feedback and encouragement, but also push writers to excel and explore.

Current activities include:

  • CityLit Studio: Writers on Craft, Creativity & Community, a FREE workshop presented as part of Free Fall Baltimore, since 2016
  • Friday Feedback at the Baltimore Book Festival in the fall. Writers have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with an experience writer for a FREE 30-minute feedback session. Same-day walk-in registration required.
  • Critique Sessions at the CityLit Festival. Each spring, at our own award-winning annual literary festival, writers can pre-register for a scheduled 30-minute session with an experienced writer.
  • Paid Master Class sessions are also presented.
