Since 2005, CityLit WriteShops (formerly "Write Here, Write Now") have created a community of writers in Baltimore where participants develop their voices and their literary art in an non-academic setting. Experienced instructors offer constructive feedback and encouragement, but also push writers to excel and explore. Multi-week and one-day sessions in various genres explore technique, craft, and professional development. Participants have read their work at public events, contributed to a professionally published anthology, and entered MFA writing programs.
